Volume 35 For Publication Date: September 04, 2015 No. 18
With the stroke of a pen, approximately 5,000 Class of 2015 graduates can now receive their diploma. Governor Jerry Brown announced August 26, 2015, that he has signed Senate Bill 725 (Hancock, D-Berkeley), an urgency measure that states the “high school exit examination shall not be required as a condition of receiving a diploma of graduation or a condition of graduation from high school for a pupil completing grade 12 in 2015 and who has met all other high school graduation requirements.”
Because the bill is an urgency measure, its effect is immediate.
